The second was done with the waterless car wash solution. The difference is like night and day. I was told by the owner of the car that it's a 2004 model. The car looked like it was just at a detailer, I swear it did.
So you pay $8 for having your car look like the first picture (which is what it cost now at the car wash), or $20 for it to look like the second. Plus I'm told the waterless wash repels water so that makes it even last longer. It's a no brainier, I don't mind paying the $20 if my entire car is going to look like that. If I did it every two weeks, that's only $40 a month, not bad.
