Eccosave Mobile Wash, who are they?

Who is Eccosave Mobile Wash? Where did they come from? Why are they here? Should I care? For those who have never gone to their website, or visited their facebook fan page, or is following them on twitter (why haven't you been doing all three?) I'll make these simple and sweet, Eccosave Mobile Wash is a waterless car wash & detailing service in the GTA (greater Toronto area). A WATERLESS car wash? hmmmm, that's new. The company just opened up this year (Feb), new company on the block. Now, from my understanding the company didn't start off with the name "Eccosave" but something entirely different. I've been told that the original name is still in the works and will be part of a future expansion of the business. I guess we'll just have to wait an see what that's about.

But why the name Eccosave? You could say the word "ecco" has something to do with water (yes..that works), and following it up with the word "save" since the company saves water each time it washes a vehicle. Sounds good to me. But how do you wash a car with no water? Well I've seen these guys in action and it's pretty cool to watch, and very simple. They use a small, battery powered, very low pressure washer to spray this green looking liquid onto the car (amazingly, none of it drips to the ground) Then the solution is spread onto the car with a speciality towel, I'm told it's a microfiber towel. The towel seemed to pick the dirt right off the vehicle along with the solution, then using another microfiber towel, they buffed the remaining solution on the car, leaving a very bright shine. The car they were working looked really good. I had to take a closer look cause I wanted to see if there were any scratches left, no scratches! I thought they would be some but one look at the towels proved the dirt was really being lifted right off.

It took them no more than 15min to finish the vehicle, rims and tires included. The car was a brand new black Audi TT. Like I said, I thought for sure I would see some scratches (especially on a black surface you can see stuff like that from a mile away. Whoever has a black car knows exactly what I'm talking about) but I couldn't find even one and the reflection from the clouds and sun on the car was something else.

This is a really cool idea, no water dripping, a perfectly clean car, and all done while the owner was working. Then I started thinking, I always go to the car wash in the winter and I hate it. Why? Because my doors always freeze when driving away, the water left on the glass turns to ice, or the dirt and salt just isn't gone. But what I hate the most is the stupid long line up just waiting for the wash. I remember last year waiting for over 35min in line. 35min? You know what I could have done in 35min? Plus I couldn't even get out the line because you know you can't reverse with cars behind you. Not looking forward to that this year so I'm really going to have to give this guys a try.

I asked one of them how much, he told me $20 with their Fall/Winter special, and they come to me. You come to me? So I don't have to wait in a line up? My doors won't freeze? I'll have a clean windshield so I can actually see where I'm going? Yes sir, I gota try them. I wonder if they do interiors? The inside of my car is a disaster, I still have salt stains from 2 years ago on the mats and carpets. I'll give them a call, maybe speak with the owner. I've got to find out more about this "waterless washing".

Till next time, the Waterless Blogger is evaporating out.
