First of all, the weather. My god it's hot outside, 34C feeling like 40C, it's a scorther! Like I stated in my previous post, I haven't blogged awhile and I would like to get back to doing that (prime time for detailing and I want to start again, go figure..) So much has happend that of course it can't all fit into one blog so I'll streatch it out over a couple entries to get everyone back up to speed.
We've changed our target market a bit. Our clients are more of the professional, I have no time to do anything, type of person. Lawyers, doctors, CEO and Presidents, etc. it's not hard to imagine this type of clientel wouldn't have a lot of time to spend cleaning their vehicle. So we do it, match made in heaven.
If you've recently been on the website, you would see that it's been divided up into two parts, the detailing side, and the product side. In my next entry, I'll get to more of what's changed on the detailing side, and touch on the product we now carry and sell to the end customer.

What? Why haven't I blogged for months?
I can't believe I've forgotten to update my blog postings....in months. Very bad and I do apologize. So I'm making a commitment to start again. So much has changed for Eccosave Mobile wash in the past months, new clients, more luxury vehicles, products availability, etc. Crazy stuff. Did you know that 7, that's right, 7 other waterless car wash companies have started within the past 3 months? Competition? We shall see...

The Dangers Of Road Salt
I've been preaching to many people the danger of leaving road salt on their vehicle for long periods of time. I searched and came across an informative article backing up everything I was saying, see below:
Protect Your Car From Road Salt

Every winter drivers should take active steps to protect
their car from road salt.
Road salt is necessary for safe transportation when snow and
ice accumulate on roads and highways and cause dangerous
driving conditions.
Salt was first used in the 1930's in snow and ice control to
make roads safe and passable by creating a lower freezing
temperature of the water. It is the most available and
cost-effective de-icer. It is easy to store, handle, and
apply.
Some 15 million tons of de-icing salt is used each year in
the U.S. and about 4-5 million in Canada.
Salt keeps snow and ice from bonding to the pavement and to
allow snowplows to remove accumulations quickly and
efficiently.
Studies show that salt use reduces accidents by 88%.
Washing your car during wintertime is one of the best things
you can do to maintain the value of your car. Mud, salt,
rain, sleet, and snow can damage your car's clear finish.
Mud and salt caked on the undercarriage promote rust,
especially in older vehicles, and can also affect how well
your car drives.
To prevent winter damage, it is recommended that you wash
your vehicle every 10 days. Wash your vehicle whenever the
temperature is 40 degrees F. and above. Do it during the
day so that it dries completely before freezing evening
temperatures begin.
Immediately after washing the vehicle, open and close all
doors, the trunk, and other parts of the car with locks
several times before parking it to prevent locks from
freezing.
Always wash your car right after a snow or rain shower.
Rain and snow collect pollutants in the air and drop them as
acid rain which can damage the cars protective finish. Snow
and sleet also include the corrosive road salt.
Wash the underside of your car often during the winter
months in car washes that do not use recycled water.
Avoid driving through large puddles of standing water which
is saturated with road salt.
Any paint chips that are larger than the tip of a pen should
be taken care of immediately.
Wax your car at least every six months. Put a good heavy
coat of wax on your car before the winter storms hit. This
heavy coat will protect your paint from the corrosive salt
and cold temperatures.
More frequent waxes are needed if your car is red, black or
white because these colors are more susceptible to acid rain
and UV rays.
When spring time rolls around, treat your car to a good wax
job again. Be sure to remove all road grime and salt off of
the car before you begin waxing.
Moral of the story, ROAD SALT IS BAD FOR YOUR CAR!

New Website is up, YouTube video also!!
Whew..after weeks and days of staying at code and images, our redesigned website is finally up. As you can see, our image has slightly changed. Actually a whole bunch of things have changed. Our service options have changed introducing trucks, RV's and motorcycles. You'll also notice that the package names have changed. This was done to flow with the image change. So far, we've been getting raved reviews over the site. Still have some bugs here and there to work out but other than that, I think it looks great!
A couple other things to note, we just posted our first promo video ad on Youtube. That should have been up sometime ago but the website took up most of my energy. We've just passed our first year in business on the 9th of January. I can't believe it's been 1 full year already. Does time every fly. Finally, we were at the Landscape Ontario Show at the Toronto Congress Centre detailing a few trucks for a company. I'll be posting some pictures soon on our Facebook Fan Page. Guess what, It's supposed to go up to 4C this week....not bad for January!

The New Year has arrived!
Well, it's here, 2010. I'm very excited for the business year. Why? I believe waterless vehicle washing will enter the automotive detailing industry main stream like a bullet shot out of a gun, attracting a lot of attention. Great news for me. However on the flip side, many roadblocks and industry resistance will make for a long, bumpy road. Industry leaders aren't to keen on waterless method of cleaning vehicles and it's pretty obvious why. If we've been doing something the same way for years and years the same way, using the same method every time, a change to that method would be like driving in the left lane, in North America, in a right handed car. We all know that going through a regular car wash doesn't clean your vehicle properly, neither does it last. Now, imagine having your car cleaned using a different method and it lasting for almost 2 weeks? Plus, just the word "waterless" makes absolutely no sense to them. They will find anything and everything possible to disregard it. Bottom line, they will loose money.
We are ready for that challenge which lies ahead. At this point in time, Eccosave Mobile Wash is the leading waterless mobile car wash company in Toronto and the plans are in place to take a strangle hold of the city. I will predict right now the emergence of other companies similar to us but, I've started the company transformation that will separate us from them. If you haven't been to our website recently, go ahead and take a look. I'm still in the middle of working on it but you certainly tell our direction has slightly changed.
